     As the challenges mount serving meals to our Florida students, more and more counties are turning in part to vending machines. Coupled with this approach is the intrinsic security issue that must be addressed.

 

    EMI Industries in Tampa has addressed this problem with "Vendguard", a security system that complements the look of the vending machine without impeding its accessibility.

    Attached you will find an engineering sketch along with a photograph of an installation in Pinellas County (located at Countryside High School). under the direction of Art Dunham, Assistant Food Service Director.

    The Vendguard is also priced right. The cost is generally HALF the cost of repair of a single vandalized vending machine, so it is easy on the budget.
